Coffee Chats
Coffee Chats will start on Tuesday, January 21st, and end on Tuesday, February 4th.
Berkeley Women in Business offers two opportunities for those interested in joining:
applying to be on one of our 6 committees or signing up to be a general member.
Become a Committee Member
Committee Member applications for Spring 2025 Recruitment are opening on 1/24 at 12 PM.
If you want to be more involved, you can apply to be on one of our committees. Being a committee member will give you the opportunity to strengthen specific skills and form a stronger bond with your fellow BWIB members.
In addition to completing the application portion on the Haas Business Organization Application, you must complete this General Membership form to complete your CM application.
Keep in mind that you are only allowed to apply to a maximum of 2 committees in any given semester. Please read below for descriptions on what each committee is in charge of and feel free to reach out to any VPs if you have further questions.
Corporate Relations (Recruiting)
Organizes professional development events such as mini case competitions, financial workshops, office visits, and networking dinners for nurturing leadership and real-life skills in members
Hosts weekly events and networking sessions with corporate sponsors to speak about internship and full-time programs
Maintains and establishes relationships with our corporate sponsors
Community Development (Recruiting)
Spearheads all community engagements, socials, volunteering projects, retreats, and end of semester banquet
Coaches members on BWIB's community role, arranges travel, coordinates with vendors, communicates with attendees, and allocates money for events
University Relations (Recruiting)
Creates, strengthens, and maintains the on-campus relationships between BWIB, other student organizations, and professors
Runs the BWIB MBA mentorship program, our alumni networking events, and our gender equity allyship program
Administration (Recruiting)
Organizes and manages member dues, committee member points system, alumni database, master calendar, and CalLink
Ensures that BWIB is tracking towards its academic and community goals by organizing member dues, managing club registration, and benchmarking against prior events
Makes club resources available to all members and facilitates inter-BWIB communications
Marketing (Recruiting)
Runs BWIB's website and social media channels via Instagram, TikTok, Youtube, LinkedIn, and Spotify.
Authors all social media postings and web content to maintain BWIB's strong online presence
Showcases BWIB externally on campus and builds the club's brand
Creates online, print, and apparel marketing materials
Diversity, Inclusion, & Operations (Recruiting)
Organizes BWIB’s Annual Case Competition (Fall) and BWIB Women in the Workforce Conference (Spring)
Manages the Haas Mentorship Program for all BWIB Haas Applicants
Facilitates BWIB's partnership with EGAL (Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership and leads BWIB's DEI initiatives)
Become a General Member
Anyone is welcome to become a “General Member” of BWIB. Membership grants you
the ability to attend as many or as few BWIB events as your schedule accommodates.
Benefits include, but are not limited to, various professional development workshops & networking events with our corporate sponsors, the opportunity to participate in our internal case competition, and access to our vast network of alumni.
Dues: Members can either pay a per-semester fee of $25 or a one-time $50 fee for lifetime membership. Contact VP of Finance, Inseo Yang (inseoyang27@berkeley.edu), if you have any questions or need assistance.
***General Member Applications are continually open. You will receive a confirmation that your application has been processed once you complete the form. In order to finish your membership initiation, you must venmo @berkeleywib with the description “[first and last name] membership dues” AND send a screenshot of your completed payment to Inseo Yang at inseoyang27@berkeley.edu
