Committee Members

Corporate Relations

Corporate Relations maintains relationships with existing Corporate Sponsors (companies that financially and professionally sponsor BWIB) and does outreach to form new partnerships that increase the industry diversity that is represented. Our committee leads many professional development events with companies such as Goldman Sachs, Gap Inc., Accenture, P&G, Altamont Capital Partners, Flowtraders, and more. BWIB’s Corporate-related Tuesday and Thursday events throughout the semester are organized by this committee and these events range from workshops, panels, and networking sessions. Reach out to VP of Corporate Relations, Veda Kalwala, to find out more!

Community Development

The Community Development Committee is centered around community outreach and empowering women within our community. We work closely with the Family Justice Center in Oakland, teaching technical workshops, including Microsoft Suite and Google Drive, and professional workshops, including resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn, to help women who have been through domestic violence achieve their professional and personal goals. In addition, we organize and host all of BWIB's socials, bringing the community of BWIB closer together and strengthen personal relationships. Reach out to the VP of Community Development, Zayna Azimi, with any questions!

Marketing

The Technology and Marketing committee is focused on empowering women through digital marketing and social media outreach. We manage all of BWIB’s recruitment materials, the website, social media presence, creative campaigns, and content creation to grow our club’s brand at Berkeley and beyond. Individual committee members work on projects such as Women’s History Month campaigns, Podcast series, Blog posts, and designing their own apparel for our club. Reach out to VP of Marketing, Nicole Aros, if you have any questions!

Administration

Administration committee members will create new club resources as well as make current ones available to all members and facilitate inter-BWIB communications. They will also ensure that BWIB is tracking towards its academic and community goals by creating and analyzing key performance indicators in the areas of club registration, benchmarking against prior events, and more. Reach out to VP of Administration, Amanda Steele, if you have any questions!

University Relations

The University Relations committee manages our club’s internal University community-building and external presence with other Women in Business chapters and campus organizations. We organize exciting programs like the Haas Women in MBA mentorship program in the Fall and Male Allyship Program in the Spring while also continuing weekly collaborations with other clubs to grow the mission of Berkeley Women in Business. Reach out to VP of University Relations, Shyla Awasthi, with any questions!

Diversity, Inclusion, & Operations

The Diversity, Inclusion, & Operations committee leads the organization of BWIB’s Annual Case Competition in the Fall and BWIB’s Women in the Workforce Conference in the Spring. Furthermore, they manage the Haas Mentorship Program for all BWIB members applying for admission into Haas. This committee also facilitates BWIB's partnership with EGAL (Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership) and leads BWIB's DEI initiatives.
